The NetBehaviour Whispers Project Version 2.
It's that time again when the community who uses NetBehaviour is asked to declare who they are, and what they do, and what they are into on the net.
This project was first posted to the list on 19th May 2004.

Il team che fa capo a Chris Deeney lavora alla 'Z-Machine'. Questa macchina, con un nome degno di un film di fantascienza anni' 50, è un generatore di raggi X costruito per testare materiali sintetici in condizioni termiche estreme. "Inizialmente non credevamo a quello che stava accadendo - ha spiegato - abbiamo ripetuto l'esperimento molte volte per essere sicuri di avere un risultato vero e non un 'Ooops'!"
"La Z-Machine funziona grazie a un principio simile alle normali lampadine casalinghe: un flusso di corrente elettrica di 20 milioni di ampere passa attraverso una piccola bobina di fili di tungsteno sottili come capelli. I fili si dissolvono immediatamente in una nube di particelle, un gas ad elevata temperatura. L'unica ipotesi finora avanzata è che a causare l'enorme surriscaldamento possa essere stata la sostituzione dei fili al tungsteno con altri di acciaio di spessore maggiore. "
