VertexList space has the pleasure to present “SELF 2.0”, a group exhibition of emerging US based media artists. On display recent projects by Mike Beradino (http://mikeberadino.com), Charles Beronio, Zachary Biberstine (www.biberstine.com), Kara Hearn (http://karahearn.com/), Jia Lim (http://jiart.com/) and Laura Nova (http://lauranova.com/).



Commenting on the contemporary strategies of electronically mediated self, SELF 2.0 introduces new and exciting voices of artists from across the country.

FREEDM2 is an online creative collective set up by Dr. Martens. We've always liked the DIY aesthetic that people apply to our boots, so we decided to offer everyone a place to do their thing and share it with the world.

Other people can tell you what they think of it and you might even get discovered by the movers and shakers we regularly invite to the site. Artists and bands here regularly find fame at FREEDM gigs, exhibitions and movies, in magazines like Dazed & Confused and by having their designs featured on Dr. Marten's footwear.

Earlier this year, two curators chosen by Dr. Martens, the street artist Shepard Fairy and the brand manager of Surface Magazine, Riley Johndonnell, selected 10 artists from the site to have their work exhibited on street-level billboards in Brooklyn and San Francisco, in a promotion called "Sidewalk Galleries." Currently, Freedm is soliciting young bands to compete to perform at Ibiza Rocks, along with established bands such as the Arctic Monkeys.
