Video Art Lounge at PREVIEW BERL IN

25 contemporary video art works will be presented in the PREVIEW BERLIN Video Art Lounge in Hangar2 (Airport Berlin Tempelhof) from September 28 to October 1, 2007. Sabine Schuetze, a freelance curator from Berlin, has selected works from artists of the represented galleries for the programme (see enclosed for full list of the video works).
The thematically open programme intends to show the entire spectrum of this art form - from the poetic road movie in Hollywood style ('The Big One' by Com&Com) to the surreal experimental film with Bidzina Kanchaveli´s '7 1/2 Frauen'. Thomas G. works with found footage: for 'Inches' he uses cut-outs from Terence Malick’s 'The Thin Red Line' and Oliver Stones’ 'Any Given Sunday' and creates a short story out of it. Mario Asef’s 'Revolution after Revolution' is a documentary work of a journey through Bucharest and Sigurdur Gudjonsson creates a cryptic, morbid film in 'Deathbed' that confronts the viewer with his own emotions.
57 galleries from 11 countries will be presented at PREVIEW BERLIN 2007.
The focus of Berlin’s youngest art fair is on emerging artists from the Berlin art scene as well as from other hotbeds of artistic production in Europe and the rest of the world.
In its third year, 30 new comers prove that PREVIEW BERLIN is a platform for a young, ever-changing scene of national as well as international galleries and project spaces.
Vernissage TV ( www.vernissage.tv ) will cover the art fair with live streaming and create a workplace as a public installation on site.
For PREVIEW BERLIN 2007, the Swiss artist and designer Christoph Hefti, head of the print department at the Belgian fashion label Dries van Noten, has created a limited edition of 100 T-shirts that can be purchased at the fair.
