Synopsis: This interactive flash animation tells a story in pieces, recounting one day's events from various points of view, adding layers and characters to the intriguing story until the final shot, where everything is finally made clear. This is about a day in which events happen to one innocent family. It reveals the dark side of human beings; crime, deceit, cruelty, negligence, love affair, cannibal and ghost. Because of one car accident, a family commits a crime against
human morality. But no one blames them because they have their own fates and their own circumstances.
Biography: JiHyun was born in Seoul, Korea and spent her childhood in Japan, where she was exposed to many unique animation films. She studied architecture and interior design at Yonsei University in Korea. During her college, spending more time on manipulating 2D and 3D graphic software, she moved her interest forward to computer graphics and studied flash and video animation in School of Visual Arts in New York. Recently, she graduated her master's program and has endeavored to create animation projects, which were reflective of her quirky imagination and sensibilities.

Synopsis: Continuum reflects upon the evolution of our collective history through the real-time analysis of global news information networks. As no event transpires in isolation, each moment of our existence is defined by the sum of an infinite number of interconnected occurrences. Given that no individual can absorb and process the totality of this information, how can we obtain an informed notion of the present?

Biography: Michael Takeo Magruder is an American artist based in the UK deploying New and Technological Media within Contemporary Art contexts. He is a long-standing member of King's Visualisation Lab located in the Centre for Computing in the Humanities, King's College London. His artworks have been showcased in over 160 exhibitions and 30 countries. His interests concern the simultaneous utilisation and dissection of new technologies as a means to explore the formal structures and conceptual paradigms of the digital realm. He seeks to create artworks in which there are no divisions between technologies, aesthetics, and concepts.

probability of seeing Bono in any of the most probable locations in Dublin's city centre in real time. Google Bono is a Google maps mashup incorporating live traffic camera imagery from Dublin's extensive network of surveillance cameras bringing together the ubiquity of urban surveillance with the cult of celebrity into another overhyped web2.0 application we didn't know we needed but now can't do without.

Synopsis: Eternal Sunset creates the experience of a continuous sunset through the use of live images from existing online webcams around the world. As the sunset moves westward, Eternal Sunset tunes into different webcams, chasing the sunset around the globe. Eternal Sunset is a virtual space where time is passing but where the daily cycle of day and night has come to a freeze at sunset; a space where the sun is always going down but never goes under. Biography: Adriaan Stellingwerff is an internet artist and web developer. He has worked in the field of new media and screen-based arts for over 8 years. Combining his technical background as Mechanical Engineer with his interest in the arts, he started working as a new media arts curator and producer in the Netherlands in 1998. Between 1998 and 2003 Adriaan curated and organised three major international exhibitions of interactive installation art ( artinoutput.nl ). In 2003 Adriaan moved to Sydney where he worked as the Program Manager at d/Lux/MediaArts for two years between 2004 and 2006.In 2005 Adriaan was awarded a Rhizome commission for his net.art work Eternal Sunset, which is exhibited internationally. Optica: Festival Internacional de Vídeo Arte de Gijón, es uno de los primeros festivales en su género de España y constituye, al mismo tiempo, una de las manifestaciones artísticas con más impacto mediático dentro de Asturias.
El Festival, organizado por el colectivo Interferencias, constituye un espacio de interrelación y divulgación que permite la aproximación a la experimentación visual a nivel mundial. Experimentar significa ir en busca de lo desconocido.
El vídeo-arte rompe códigos establecidos, dando protagonismo a la esencia del cine: luz, sonido y movimiento, llegando en algunos casos hasta la abstracción absoluta.
Es así una de las formas más puras y natural de la cultura audiovisual, en la medida que implica una percepción subjetiva del espacio-tiempo, a través de la tecnología de la imagen electrónica.

Pressetext: An 100 Tagen werden täglich wechselnd 100 Videos präsentiert. Gezeigt werden poetische, erzählerische, humoristische und sozialkritische Beiträge. Zu sehen sind unter anderem die „Bachar Tapes“ von Walid Raad. Aber auch Videos junger Künstler wie Alexander Heim, der mithilfe digitaler Schnitttechnik einen alten Filmausschnitt in ein kleines musikalisches Arrangement verwandelt hat, sind äußerst sehenswert. Nicole Wermers braucht keine Schnitte, um unseren Blick herauszufordern. Mit einer umgedrehten Kamera wandert sie durch öffentliche Gebäude, wodurch die gewölbeartigen Decken der Räume sich in glamourös anmutende Welten verwandeln. Lisa Junghanß hingegen inszeniert sich in ihrem "Hass"-Video psychologisch hintersinnig als kühle, kunst- und lifestyle-kritische Fetisch-Prinzessin. Und vom deutschen Filmemacher Matthias Müller ist der Film „Vacancy“ zu sehen. In der Arbeit hat Müller Originalmaterial, welches in der modernen, fast utopisch wirkenden Stadt Brasilia in den 1960er-Jahren gedreht wurde, mit eigenen Aufnahmen der inzwischen leicht verfallenen südamerikanischen Stadt verwoben.

Muna Mussie (Eritrea 1978) inizia il suo percorso di attrice nel 1998 in seguito all’incontro con Teatrino Clandestino. Nel 2002, dopo aver frequentato la Scuola d’Attore curata dal Teatro Valdoca, prosegue la collaborazione nelle successive produzioni della compagnia. Dal 2001 al 2005 è parte attiva nel gruppo di ricerca Open. Nel 2006 debutta a Raum Bologna, la sua prima creazione per la scena MadrePatria.

Sonia Brunelli (Forli 1976), studia arte, movimento, ginnastica artistica, interrogandosi sulle forme della rappresentazione e della comunicazione artistica. Dal 2000 è Coroginnasta della Stoa, Scuola di Danza e filosofia, fondata dalla Societas Raffaello Sanzio di Cesena. Ha collaborato con le compagnie teatrali Egum Teatro e Orthographe. Come autrice e coreografa dal 2004 ha realizzato i soli Encefalo: Azione Riproducibile e Umo. Le ultime creazioni Doma, NN, A NN A sono state presentate in numerosi festival italiani.
Flavio Favelli (Firenze 1967), artista visivo, vive e lavora a Samoggia - Savigno (BO). Innovazione, memoria e tradizione artigianale caratterizzano il suo lavoro. Recenti mostre personali: Bureau, La Maison Rouge, Paris. Ambient Tour, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Torino (2007). Tra le principali mostre collettive: Bologna Contemporanea, GAM (2005), Bologna. Clandestini, La Biennale di Venezia - 50. Living Room, ideato da Xing per gli spazi di Raum-Bologna, è un formato dedicato alla produzione di performer, coreografi, artisti visivi: eventi performativi pensati e realizzati per offrirsi ad uno sguardo a stretto contatto con il pubblico. Rappresenta uno spazio anomalo nel panorama italiano, nato per sperimentare forme di presentazione scenica non classiche, alla ricerca di prototipi e tipologie performative immediate e colloquiali. Living Room è una camera di decompressione per artisti affermati; un luogo di verifica per chi ha ricerche in corso sulle diverse forme della rappresentazione, in cui condividere i processi oltre agli esiti estetici.
La 3a edizione della Giornata del Contemporaneo (6 ottobre 2007) è promossa a livello nazionale da AMACI (Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani). L’iniziativa, che vede il coinvolgimento dei musei associati all’AMACI e di numerose altre organizzazioni e istituzioni italiane che operano nel settore dell’arte contemporanea, è sostenuta dalla DARC – Direzione per l’Architettura e l’Arte Contemporanea – del Ministero per i beni e le attività culturali.
La terza Giornata del Contemporaneo è l’occasione per coinvolgere e sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica rispetto al ruolo dell’arte contemporanea nello sviluppo dell’identità culturale e nell’innovazione sociale ed economica.
Per tutto il giorno, una serie di eventi – mostre, convegni, incontri – arricchirà la proposta culturale del paese, col fine di coltivare nella coscienza collettiva la percezione dell’arte di oggi come elemento costitutivo del patrimonio culturale. Tutti gli aderenti apriranno gratuitamente al pubblico le proprie collezioni, nonché le mostre e le manifestazioni promosse. Ne risulterà una mappa dell’arte di oggi che coinvolge non soltanto le grandi città ma anche i centri più piccoli, da sempre molto attivi, dove i musei hanno assunto il ruolo di poli culturali con la missione di presentare e valorizzare l’attività degli artisti contemporanei.

There is deliberately no theme behind this exhibition, though inevitably thematic associations will emerge. Rather, the intention is to bring together a collection of artists, some of whose work responds directly to the space, while also being open and forgiving enough to allow their piece to intrude into the works of others, or host the work of another. Though not all the artists are ‘installation’ artists, there is an attempt to explore the idea that all the work in this exhibition exists within a succession of installations. In all group shows the artwork interacts with its neighbour through a variety of ways: association, narrative, contrast, etc., but in this case there will be the addition of some works directly intervening with its neighbour. It will raise questions as to whether this is an intervention, or perceived more aggressively as invasion, or seen in the light of collaboration. The curatorial balance will be between maintaining the integrity of each work while ensuring that it plays its role as part of the ‘installation’ of the whole exhibition. Inevitably, to some extent this is a normal practise, but in the case of installation art, which normally commands its own spatial logic, it invites a different challenge within these relationships, opening up questions as to where one work ends and another begins, notions of authorship, and the power relationship between artist and curator, while sustaining a cogent exhibition.

il 2 Ottobre 2007, alle ore 18.00, l’artista Daniel Buren terrà la conferenza A propos de quelques travaux. Zdenka Badovinac, che introduce l'incontro, presenta il lavoro dell'artista francese, che si e' recentemente occupato della curatela del progetto Prenez soins de Vous (Take care of yourself) di Sophie Calle, per il Padiglione della Francia alla 52. Biennale Internazionale d'Arte di Venezia, tutt'ora in corso,
mentre il 6 ottobre, in occasione della giornata del contemporaneo Zdenka Badovinac con Roberto Pinto e Gabi Scardi è presente alla tavola rotonda Dietro le quinte – Le ragioni per costruire una mostra.

Apertura Straordinaria per la Giornata del Contemporaneo (sabato 6 Ottobre) promossa da AMACI (Associazione Musei d’arte Contemporanea in Italia) con il sostegno del Ministero per i beni e le attività culturali
Inaugura il 4 ottobre a Milano, alla MyOwnGallery, la prima personale in Italia di Simo Neri, artista di origini italiane che lavora tra gli USA e Parigi. Sue opere sono esposte in importanti istituzioni come il Ministero delle Finanze francese e la Kunsthaus di Graz.In un percorso pensato appositamente per gli spazi della galleria, l'artista dispone una serie di installazioni fotografiche, principale mezzo espressivo e cifra caratteristica della sua arte. Coniugando elementi pittorici (i supporti di tela) ed elementi scultorei (la tridimensionalità delle opere) la Neri arricchisce il classico linguaggio fotografico infondendo alle sue creazioni movimento, sia nell’immagine che nella forma. La Natura, con la N maiuscola, è il tema centrale della sua ricerca. Il suo procedimento creativo è “circolare”, parte dal Tutto per farvi ritorno attraverso un processo di frammentazione e quindi di riunione dei dettagli. Le sue opere appaiono come un mosaico di tessere fotografiche che a volte cade dall’ alto, altre si appoggia alla parete o altre ancora ricopre il pavimento.
BHU, la radice indoeuropea della parola physis (natura), vuole illustrare metaforicamente il procedimento creativo di Simo Neri, cioè una sorta di etimologia visuale della realtà.
