In occasione della Festa del Teatro di Milano , il Teatro delle Moire presenta un progetto che si interroga sull’identità. Una performance, un’azione di recruiting di talenti: tutti possiamo essere Britney Spears!

Un set fotografico accoglierà i curiosi, uomini e donne, che verranno trasformati in Britney, sottoponendosi a un servizio fotografico, come vere celebrities.
Gli ingredienti sono semplici: trucco, parrucche e un pizzico di ironia.

Síntesis del proyecto
El próximo 21 de septiembre el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León presentará Existencias, su tercer gran proyecto sobre la Colección MUSAC tras la muestra Emergencias, que inauguró el museo el 1 de abril de 2005 y Fusión: Aspectos de la cultura asiática en la colección MUSAC, que se desarrolló entre diciembre del 2005 y abril del 2006. La muestra ocupará todo el espacio expositivo del museo‚ más de 4.000 metros cuadrados en 5 salas, Laboratorio 987 y el Proyecto Vitrinas- y presentará al espectador las obras de más de 200 artistas nacionales e internacionales de la colección MUSAC.

La visita alla mostra e' un vero percorso emozionale : da un inizio di ritratti di neonati e fanciulli, sguardi dolci e innocenti si passa a immagini distese di adolescenti quasi preraffaellite ... poi numerosi ritratti iperrealisti di gruppi familiari di impostazione neonazista, pose pulite e severe; fino a volti tumefatti fasciati con bende da cui emergono solo sguardi di immenso dolore.

Im Rahmen des Copy!07 Festival ( [ http://www.copy07.ch ]) Während sich die halbe Welt darüber den Kopf zu zerbrechen scheint, wie die Rechte an fotografischen oder filmischen Bildern noch besser und effektiver geschützt werden können, existiert im Experimentalfilmbereich seit langem die Found Footage Tradition, Werke die auf bereits existierdes Film Material zurückgreifen ( gefundenes , gesuchtes, angeeingnetes); Material dass neu kontextualisiert wird oder durch umbearbeitung neue Bedeutungen und Inhalte erhält, Veränderungen die oft auch eine Verdichtung der original Bedeutungsebenen zur Folgen haben. Es entstehen dabei oft wunderbare neue filmische Kunstwerke.

Meridith Pingree physically tracks human behavior and traffic patterns using quasi-scientific, homespun, reactive sculptures. Using sensors to pick up on people's energy and movement throughout a space, her work exists as amplifications of this subtle energy, creating unconventional, complex portraits of people and spaces. For example: kinetic links of a centipede-like creature respond individually to create a live mutating curve. Robotic, rainbow colored gel pens selectively record human traffic patterns. Personalities captured by subtle head movements are frozen in rapid-prototyped sculptures.

Nathalie Djurberg is one of ten featured artists commissioned by PERFORMA to create new work for PERFORMA 07. Djurberg presents her first live work, Untitled (Working Title Kids & Dogs), a claymation film with live musical accompaniment oscillating between music, written and performed by Hans Berg, and sounds produced by Djurberg, Berg, and Pascal Strauss, with homemade instruments and readymade objects.

Looking for 30 Hula Hoopers - HULA HOOPERS NEEDED!! We are looking for hula hoopers (at any skill level) to take part in a live performance as part of PERFORMA07, the second biennial of new visual art performance in New York (http://www.performa-arts.org/ ).

The audience will be invited to the rooftop of the artist’s apartment building on the lower east side, from there, they watch as 30 hula hoopers perform on the surrounding rooftops. The performance should last a maximum of an hour, during which the audience have a new and very different view of Manhattan’s rooftops. Rooftop Routine is scheduled for Saturday November 3rd 10am with a rehearsal on October 31st (time TBC). We are hoping to find 30 hoopers who will perform on the rooftops surrounding Christians building so please pass this email on to anyone you know who may being interested in being a hooper!

EMARE - Grants for European Media Artists to UK, Germany, Bulgaria and the Netherlands

With support of the European Union - Culture 2007-2013 programme the newly established European Media Art Network will host 16 European Media Artists in Residence Exchanges within 2008 and 2009 and organise a final exhibition in 2009 in Halle (Saale) additional to individual presentations.

Europe based Media Artists in the fields of digital media including internet and computer based art, filmmakers, sound and video artists are invited to apply for a two months artist residency at IMPAKT, Rotterdam, Netherlands; Interspace, Sofia, Bulgaria; VIVID, Birmingham England or
at Werkleitz Center for Media Arts in Halle, Germany. Students are not permitted, but young artists encouraged.
EMARE includes a grant of 2.000 Euro, free accomodation, up to 250 Euro travel expenses, access to the technical facilities and media labs and a professional presentation.
Entries should include the application form (downloadable from the website), a CV, (audio)visual reference projects documentation (no originals) and a proposal sketch for the project which should be developed within EMARE. Artists with residence in or identity card within Europe should contact one of the following institutions for further details or visit the homepage:

Can machines produce art? Do artists then become engineers? What, then, is the work of art in these cases: the machine, the product, or the act of production?While machines are geared toward reproducibility, art has traditionally been understood as being distinguished by its uniqueness, a uniqueness that arises from the artist’s genius. The exhibition links central questions of modern and contemporary art and society with the playful and pleasurable interaction between work of art and viewer. Beginning with Jean Tinguely’s drawing machines from the 1950s and continuing to the present day, the SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT (18 OCTOBER 2007 - 27 JANUARY 2008) presents art machines that have one thing in common: they produce art themselves.





Machines by artists such as Pawel Althamer, Michael Beutler, Angela Bulloch, Olafur Eliasson, Tue Greenfort, Damien Hirst, Rebecca Horn, Jon Kessler, Tim Lewis, Lia, Miltos Manetas, Roxy Paine, Steven Pippin, Cornelia Sollfrank, Jean Tinguely, Antoine Zgraggen, and Andreas Zybach transform the exhibition space into a production space.

Often criticized or even rejected (notably by the anti-Ad movements who are very active for 10 years) because originally it was conceived under the sign of mercantilism, nevertheless publicity stays an art of transience, which feeds itself with artistic trends and sociologic currents of society.

ICONA ArtVerona

Con ICONA ArtVerona seleziona ed evidenzia un’opera che simbolicamente rappresenti la fiera stessa, nel suo essere manifestazione che esprime valori e tendenze dell’arte contemporanea.

La commissione presieduta da Giorgio Cortenova seleziona dieci tra le proposte presentate dalle gallerie partecipanti, e indica quella che, a suo giudizio, risulta più significativa.

Ogni anno l’opera vincitrice viene assunta quale immagine della comunicazione di ArtVerona dell’anno successivo.

Nel 2006 è stata selezionata l'opera Jumping Carousel dell'artista Julia Bornefeld presentata dalla galleria Antonella Cattani contemporary art di Bolzano.


Il 24 Luglio 2007 alle ore 11.00, si è riunita, presso la sede della Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Palazzo Forti di Verona, la commissione selezionatrice di ICONA 2007 presieduta da Giorgio Cortenova e composta da Beatrice Buscaroli, Giorgio Fasol, Manuela Magliano Pellegrini, Francesca Pini e Vitaliano Pesante. Sono state attentamente esaminate le 104 opere presentate. La commissione ha unanimamente deciso di riconoscere maggiormente idonee le seguenti dieci opere:
