Triennale Bovisa presenta la mostra “Kiefer e Mao che mille fiori fioriscano” a cura di Germano Celant, che propone una lettura inedita per il pubblico italiano dell’interesse di Anselm Kiefer per il ruolo politico-culturale di Mao Zedong nella storia occidentale attraverso 35 opere, suddivise in dipinti e libri d’artista.

Grand Openings: The Ballad of Interdependency
Following the recent success of talks given by both Anna Barriball and Mark Wallinger, the National Galleries of Scotland is delighted to host a talk given by the new artists-in-residence at Randolph Cliff, Edinburgh. Acclaimed New York-based Japanese artist, Ei Arakawa, and Georgian artist, Gela Patashuri, will present a multimedia talk on the Grand Openings project.
Grand Openings is a renowned series of collaborative performances incorporating actions, dance, music, lights, film-screenings, concerts and discussions. Grand Openings first began in November 2005 in New York; since then they have taken place in Tbilisi, Georgia, and at the Museum of Modern Art (MUMOK), Vienna.

iMAL Center for Digital Cultures and Technology is proud to present Holy Fire.
Art of the Digital Age a collective exhibition featuring a unique panel of digital artworks created in the last years by internationally known new media artists, and coming from galleries and collections from around the world (USA, Europe, Russia). Holy Fire is an attempt to explore how new media art, bypassing all the stereotypes connected with its presumed immateriality and difficulties of maintenance, was able to enter the art market.
Y.E.T.I. N0. 5 3 0 0 (Your Enviroment Traces Inside), a cura di Lorenzo Gatti, è un site-specific, inteso come un percorso in grado di mettere in comunicazione l’interno di TortonaTrentuno-Store con l’esterno e di coinvolgere lo spettatore a 360 gradi.
L’allestimento si svilupperà nelle due sale dello spazio attraverso un’installazione plastica, tre fotografie e due video che si andranno a sovrapporre ad altri media e accorgimenti finalizzati a spaesare e confondere lo spettatore.

Installazione luminosa: 30 quintali di macerie, 9 neon e specchi

Nell’installazione Innesti vitali le macerie accumulano, nascondono e soffocano la presenza dell’uomo, che sepolto dal dramma, dalla potenza inarrestabile della natura o dalla malvagità dei suoi simili, sembra smarrire ogni speranza vitale. Per un attimo la caducità pare realizzarsi e prendere il sopravvento sulla vita, sembra essere sopraggiunta l’ora oscura; la materia si sgretola, la speranza va in frantumi, i detriti avvolgono e pervadono lo spazio, il tempo pone fine al suo percorso e l’immobilità non accetta alcun spasmo di vita. Il senso di quanto accaduto rimane ignoto e mentre la luce scardina e interrompe la sospensione silenziosa, negli occhi di chi vive ancora sotto il buio dell’avversità, si manifesta la fiamma luminosa della speranza. Le lame di neon sono per Filippo Centenari la forza che dà e toglie vita; dai fasci di luce che penetrano nelle macerie proviene l’attesa e la fiducia per una perenne illuminazione. Le ombre distruttrici si assottigliano fino ad essere impalpabili ed invisibili, ora non sono più le tenebre della sofferenza a dominare la scena, ma la luce come epifania di un nuovo innesto vitale nell’umanità.
