Alternative scene of the Eighties
The exhibition conveys the tumultuous times of the 1980s in Slovenia, shedding light on the important social and artistic events of a period in which significant shifts were happening on the margins of the socialist society, making possible the appearance of the first gay and lesbian clubs, independent publishing houses, multimedia groups, and other forms of countercultural creativity.
The group FV 112/15 was a central part of Ljubljana’s counterculture and the heart of the alternative youth movement in the 1980s. The group displays all the signs of an artistic project, one that developed from an amateur theater group and, in the activities of an alternative club, provided a space for the expression of sexual, social, cultural, and artistic difference. The FV group was closely involved with the development of Slovene video art and the emergence of progressive trends in music, as expressed by such legendary groups as Borghesia, Videosex, and Laibach, among others."

Lo scopo di DECEMBERproject è quello di raccontare il lavoro di cinque artisti italiani, provenienti da contesti metropolitani diversi, che hanno attraversato nella propria formazione esperienze visive "underground". Nonostante la diversità di riferimenti e modalità espressive, il loro background ha permesso di conservare metodi e strumenti che secondo le precedenti ricerche di NOTgallery possono essere ricondotti alla cultura Hip Hop, benché ciascuno di loro non abbia riferimenti diretti a questo ambito.. Tali strumenti e metodi appaiono oggi come i più all'avanguardia ed i più comunicativi all'interno del contesto artistico visivo internazionale. Diamond, Iabo, JB Rock, Walter Picardi, Cristian Sonda operano con modalità di lavoro che si esprimono anche attraverso i canali artistici tradizionali, ma ricevono linfa da ambienti culturali non convenzionali, diversi per ognuno, permettendo di generare all'interno del sistema dell'arte una creatività senza schemi prestabiliti.
Dopo la mostra in galleria la serata proseguirà al music club Rising Mutiny. Nel segno della sperimentazione, dell'interdisciplinarità e della contaminazione propria della cultura underground, musica e arte si intrecceranno per creare uno scambio osmotico tra i due contesti. A coloro che si recheranno in galleria o che si metteranno in lista è riservato l'ingresso gratuito per l'unplugged di Davide Combusti in arte The Niro e una riduzione sul prezzo della consumazione.
Un'occasione per conoscere i protagonisti coinvolti nel progetto in una piacevole atmosfera informale attraverso la proiezioni di immagini che ne racconteranno il percorso creativo, il tutto accompagnato dalla voce e dalla chitarra del giovane musicista romano.

"La connaissance des pays éloignés révèle et conforte l'histoire de notre propre pays, met notre propre culture à sa place dans le monde contemporain.Le FIAV (Festival d'Images Artistiques Vidéos) qui en 2008 se déroulera en Algérie, est à ce propos une manifestation, consciente de ce désir d'élargissement et de communication, dans le droit fil du « Processus de Barcelone : Union pour la Méditerranée »En proposant au public des images exprimant des points de vue différents de sept pays du pourtour de la Méditerranée -l'Algérie, l'Espagne, la France, l'Italie, le Maroc, le Portugal, la Tunisie- le FIAV mise sur un consensus autour de l'efficacité des images vidéo artistiques, sur une évaluation et compréhension meilleures des diverses identités euroméditerranéennes, sans exclusive, tant auprès des artistes que des participants et critiques."
