Zur Topologie des imaginativen Raums in der Klangkunst

Mit: Jason Kahn, Yves Netzhammer/Bernd Schurer, Felix Profos/Silvan Gretener, Rob van Rijswijk/Jeroen Strijbos, Daniel Bisig/Martin Neukom/Jan Schacher

Die Ausstellung zeigt fünf künstlerische Entwürfe von Klangräumen, fünf Werke, welche je eine Reise in ein klangliches Milieu unternehmen. Dabei betreten wir imaginierte und erfundene Räume, begegnen Poetischem und Verstörendem und entdecken klanglich räumliche Kompositionen, welche nicht nur isoliert da stehen, sondern in einem Bezug und einem Verhältnis zur räumlichen Topologie.

The Consequences of Time

"Sabato 13 dicembre alle ore 18.30 la Galleria Michela Rizzo inaugura la mostra personale di Cristina Treppo “The consequences of time” a cura di Martina Cavallarin, presso la sede di Palazzo palumbo Fossati a Venezia.

Quella di Cristina Treppo è una pratica contemporanea che viene da lontano, da un uso consueto di raccogliere ed ammucchiare, dalla polvere delle soffitte disabitate violate da menti curiose e da mani veloci. L’artista tocca la materia e la rende altro da sé, la decontestualizza e la ingloba con soggetti diversi dando vita ad un’opera autonoma, straordinariamente nuova, contrastante il suo passato e sbilanciata nel presente.

L’analisi del linguaggio della Treppo ci avvicina alla dinamica dei ready made, degli object trouvé, ma ci distanzia da questi per gli intenti, che non riguardano tanto il rapporto tra artista ed opera, quanto tra oggetto e tempo, tra oggetto e spazio, tra oggetto ed altro oggetto, per la supremazia finale, appunto, di un soggetto unico che non abbia solo un altro nome, ma soprattutto un’altra forma ed abiti un altro luogo ... "

Franko B - I'm thinking of you

tratto dal comunicato di Eugenio Viola - "Franko B’s visionary and oppressive sensibility taps into the great iconographic tradition of the memento mori and into spirituality of horror that characterizes the deadly, counter-reformed Baroque. The equilibrium of the composition of his work sends, however, back to a more classical, formal ideal, returns to the brutality of our times, but, at the same time, expresses a existential breath, recalls the tenderness of human heart, which unravels all his being in the world.
I Miss You, Long Live Romance, Don’t Leave Me This Way, these are the titles of some Franko B’s performances. Actions that, beyond the pictorial nature of the aesthetic impact, opens to a romantic meditation, to the desire investigated through different tones: separation, solitude, fear of being abandoned, submission…A work ultimately presenting itself as an enormous, unconditioned act of love: I’m thinking of you."

Der zweite Teil der Sammlungspräsentation beginnt mit den Avantgarden des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts wie Expressionismus, Dadaismus und Konstruktivismus, die künstlerisch Widerspruch formulierten und Antworten auf die drängenden sozialen und politischen Fragen gaben. Die Diffamierung dieser künstlerischen Richtungen bei gleichzeitiger Indienstnahme ihrer fortschrittlichen Ästhetik durch die totalitären Regime der 1930er- und 1940er-Jahre ist ebenso Thema wie die Wiederaufnahme der künstlerischen Vorgaben dieser Bewegungen durch die jungen Künstlerinnen und Künstler nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs.

MAST Workshop: "The Workshop on Media Arts, Sciences, and Technology (MAST) will be held in Santa Barbara, CA on January 29-30, 2009. The goal of this workshop is to bring together leading digital media researchers and practitioners who work at the intersection of arts and engineering, in order to explore key challenges and promising directions in digital arts, experiential media systems, creative environments, and emerging media technologies. The two-day workshop will consist of invited keynote presentations, short talks, poster sessions, media installations, demos, and panel discussions. The format will provide ample opportunities for participants to interact in an informal setting and explore further collaborations."
