Premio Arti Visive San Fedele
La Galleria San Fedele nasce alla fine degli anni ’40 come luogo di incontro tra i giovani artisti. Attraverso la Galleria la Fondazione Culturale San Fedele promuove un’attività in campo artistico orientata a elaborare i contenuti della fede cristiana, i temi fondamentali dell’esistenze, le problematiche della vita politica e sociale, con particolare attenzione al mondo degli ultimi e degli emarginati e al mondo artistico giovanile (Premio Arti Visive San Fedele).
Il Premio è rivolto a giovani artisti e a giovani registi. Per questo motivo, si suddivide in Premio Artivisive San Fedele Giovani Artisti e Premio Artivisive San Fedele Giovani Filmmaker.

Jenny Holzer
Fondation Beyeler is presenting the first large exhibition of Jenny Holzer's work in a Swiss museum. Incorporating texts she has written since the late 1970s, the show comprises important objects from various phases of Holzer's career since the 1980s. The focus is on recent works, some of which have never before been shown in Europe. On view are paintings and sculptures, as well as her famous LED installations, containing compelling combinations of overwhelming visual effects and memorable texts of a poetic, socio-critical, and political nature. The presentation is supplemented by a selection of works the artist has chosen from the Beyeler Collection (A. Giacometti, P. Picasso, K. Malevich, and F. Bacon). In addition to the museum space, the exhibition also extends outdoors to the public domain. Spectacular light projections on key buildings and sites in Basel, Baselland, and Zurich will be on view on special nights.
Conceived in close cooperation with the artist and the MCA, Chicago, the exhibition was curated by Elizabeth A.T. Smith and Philippe Büttner.

"Marte Eknaes uses the urban environment as source in her practice of making sculptures and drawings. She looks at the structures that hold things up, facades that present information and spaces in between the high concentration of transaction and consumption that take place in the city. Using mainly (small scale) building materials such as Perspex, metal, tape, chain and glass, often combined with found parts of office interiors and furniture she makes structures that operate in parallel to the 'real'. However the functionality is removed and the structures are only holding themselves up and the displays are transparent units without anything to display."

kurimanzutto presenta Obsidiana, un proyecto desarrollado durante los últimos dos años por Jimmie Durham. La producción de este artista abarca desde el dibujo, la escultura, la instalación y el video hasta el performance, la literatura y la poesía. Jimmie Durham vivió y trabajó en México, en la ciudad de Cuernavaca de 1987 hasta 1994; posteriormente realizó una serie de viajes a lo largo y ancho de Eurasia, que despertaron su interés por la
noción Europa: “pues en realidad no describe un continente, sino que es solamente una confusión política”. Quince años después de haber dejado el país, Durham presenta su primera exposición individual en México.
